Assassinating Republicans
Enduring Hatred Against the Right
The Republican Party has a history of making hard choices and holding people accountable. Today, President Trump is taking action against illegal immigration. The Democrat Party, which opposed immigration from Clinton to Obama, has done a 180-degree turn to favor open-border nonsense, and now attack Trump for a position they once held.
In the process, the Democrats obstruct and make excuses all for the sake of power. President Trump is calling them out as a good President should (https://www.whitehouse.gov/articles/2025/09/democrats-unhinged-crusade-against-ice-fuels-bloodshed/). Many will say political violence comes from the right but as any conservative knows, it comes from the left, which is why so many conservatives button their lips, shutting them tight.
The United States Congress has tried to put the Presidential branch in a cage for decades, particularly after Watergate, but Trump is relentlessly clawing back all of the most important features of the Executive branch of Government. Yet, the opposition keeps throwing every conceivable obstacle in his path.
Trump is an unapologetic pragmatist who is not contained by idealism or shame. The establishment, the deep state, and the idealists cannot stand him because all their favorite tactics cannot control him. But Trump tries Plan A, and if it does not work, moves to Plan B, or even Plan C, without any political concern because he has listened to people and has goals he wants to achieve.
Republicans have a history of holding people accountable and calling the facts as they see them. The United States is not a democracy but a Republic, and the Office of the President is the most profound watermark of it as it holds off the perverse aspects of Democracy. However, when it comes to Republican presidents, they get shot for it.
First, there was Abraham Lincoln in 1865. Next was James Garfield in 1881. By 1901, President William McKinley, a pro-tariff guy like Lincoln, was killed as well. President Teddy Roosevelt was shot at in 1912, but survived, and made a long speech minutes later. For a time, things settled, but after Democrat JFK was killed, years later, Republican President Ronald Reagan was shot at and survived.
In addition, the left keeps pushing people out. I am still trying to figure out how Robert F. Kennedy and Tulsi Gabbard, both former Democrats and presidential candidates ended up working in the Trump administration. Anyone want to talk about big tent strategy (https://politicaldictionary.com/words/big-tent/)?
We know of the attempt on Trump’s life, and his resilience, but people will largely forget his first audible words after being shot were “let me get my shoes”. This is the point. A President in a Republic has to grasp what is at hand without being caught up in the commotion. Trump had to know, by the time the shots were done, the threat to him was gone, and he could move on. He had received death threats before and read up on assassination attempts. So, with his shoes secured, he put his fist in the air and said, “ “Fight! Fight! Fight!”.
