So many issues are kicking up in Nebraska but to start off, the Omaha City Council voted in favor of a $260, 000,000 tax bond issue to be on the May ballot. Here is the quick and easy on tax bonds. Always vote “NO”. The advocates claim “we can pay for this project without raising property taxes”.
I must be hard at hearing because what I hear is ”we can pay for this project without lowering property taxes”. If a tax bond is to be issued, it should be used to lower property taxes, but no one thinks outside the box on this. The tax bonds appear on the property tax statements mailed out. These tax bond issues merely take out a second mortgage on the house. And the house is your house, not the school or the hospital. Congressman Don Bacon has fed deep roots into the Republican Party in hearing candidates out, endorsing them and even funding some down ballot races. Bacon is a very personable guy but at times he leaves beside his conservative bona-fides for stuff endorsed by the Republican Main Street Partnership PAC, a “spend all the money we can get” group. This is why we have primaries to send a conservatives message to people like Bacon. Anyways, with the changes in the Congressional boundaries, it helps to have a primary challenger to determine what the real interests are with the new boundaries. (In fairness, Bacon did appear on Nebraska Sunrise News with Chris Baker.)
Steve Kuehl is running against Bacon in this primary. He already has a website at https://www.stevekuehl.com/ and his issues are basic conservative values. Having competition in this Congressional race will help down ballot Republican candidates. So give both Kuehl and Bacon support during the primary. The more Republican activity, the better the results will be in the general.
As for Congressman Fortenberry, unless he receives a major legal win in court, stick a fork in him and call him done. A mysterious group called American Future Fund has attacked Mike Flood, who is challenging Fortenberry. The American Future Fund is a deceptive fund which sounds off as conservative but it is all cosmetic. Club for Growth and the Senate Conservatives Fund have been the backbone of finding honest, action-oriented conservatives who support limited government, and economic growth in a free market economy, such as Rand Paul, Ron Johnson, Ted Cruz, and Mike Lee.
American Future Fund appears to be a bunch of lobbyists who gathered to fund mild Republicans they like which makes Fortenberry look worse. Their attack on Mike Flood is deceptive and people should figure it out and turn to Flood as he is very good at defending his bona-fides. You can read them on Flood’s website at link below:

Apparently, one poll suggests Fortenberry is ahead but such early polls are easy to flip and change. The question really is: is Fortenberry seen as a victim or an idiot? If the voters think Fortenberry is an idiot, Flood will win.
