Update 2: There is a fundraiser for the family. See: https://b5brewco.com/event/aaron-lives-strong-als-benefit-for-aaron-bush/ Also, here is how he is doing https://b5brewco.com/news-hits-hard-for-the-bush-family/
Update: I have added more details.
For those who know me, I am a beer guy and love trying new brews. Many younger people take craft brews and microbrews as ubiquitous but there was a time when no microbrews existed and you could not brew beer at home. Weak pilsner beers like Budweiser, Coors, Miller, Pabst, Hamms and other dominated the market to the point of being a monopoly. Laws from the prohibition era were still on the books and slowly being liberalized.
Occasionally you might get a Guinness Extra Stout or a Heineken from a specialty place, but Extra Stout is harsh, and anything in a green bottle is quick to skunk. To me, any so-called beer in a green bottle is a pee bottle. Some bartender served me a skunk beer and told me "It is supposed to taste that way" demonstrating his stupidity. Anyways...
The only bad part of the microbrew craze is there is a lot of mediocre beer as well as overpowered beer. Yet, craft brewers pushed to make a better beer. Aaron Bush has been part of this movement and brought a kind and joyful art to brewing. If I recall correctly, when he was with Infusion Brewery, he helped craft what became known as the Vanilla Bean beer, which sold faster than it could be brewed.
When Aaron would be bartending at the Infusion Brewery, he sucked in the comments of patrons about every beer and made wonderful recommendations. Also, the Butcher Block Bier Likor with whip cream topped everything. I believe he always respected me for my blunt, nonprofane, evaluation of beers, even when he disagreed. Now he runs the Benson place once occupied by Infusion Brewery and with his own style and finess, as B5 Brewery.
Now the World-Herald (https://omaha.com/life-entertainment/local/food-drink/beer-community-omaha-beer-week-brews-up-help-for-owner-of-b5-brewing-company-in/article_b31fdefc-ea5c-11ef-9f3e-abf687ee1e8d.html) has reported he has amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), known as Lou Gehrig's disease which the same disease as Stephen Hawkings had. The local beer community is stepping up to help the Aaron Bush family in their time of need, and I am adding my voice to the cause.
Here is the list offering the special Iron Horse IPA beer to support Aaron Bush. You may have to do an internet search for location, and times of open hours. Also, you may have to ask the bartender, just what beer supports Aaron Bush.

I am very sorry to hear that Aaron has been diagnosed with Lou Gehrig Disease. Whether or not beer drinking is your thing (it isn't mine), that's still a rough diagnosis.
