By now you have heard Democrats are despairing this election as they really do not care about their candidates. In comes an idea to put out signs with blue dots (https://www.3newsnow.com/central-omaha/why-some-lawns-in-central-omaha-have-bde-blue-dot-energy).
The Democrats, progressives, Marxists, and liberals are all becoming divided by their “Facebook” politics. This means shallow candidates, identity politics, hating Trump, and direct appeal to emotion over policy. This is the real appeal of the blue dot as it unifies people in their vacantness.
For example, the Legalize Marijuana Now Party (LMN) (https://nebraskaexaminer.com/2024/09/04/legal-marijuana-now-party-wont-offer-a-nominee-for-nebraskas-u-s-senate-ballot/) continues to grow and has over 3,000 registered voters. Such a narrow focused group is difficult to oppose and they are pushing a ballot issue. Unfortunately, there is no discussion of the substantial negative impact of marijuana usage. At the same time, candidates of all the political parties can choose to the ignore the issue as it is a ballot initiative.
What bothers me is the image of a blue dot reminds me of the dancing blue does or other dots when software is taking time to process. You have to wait for it to do something.
I thought of countering with a red dot, but people would think I am Japanese. Suddenly, the matter was quite clear, if you stand for nothing, what are you falling for?

Of course, I have always been a bit partial to this sign from the Atlas Society as it allows me to annoy leftists all the time, even after the election is over.
