Update, apparently, the World Herald has enabled public comments again.

Facebook (now Meta) and Twitter are notorious for censorship, but their users also block and troll people. YouTube standards regularly censor content. Of course, such programs are largely ad programs.
But with the US election coming up in 59 days, you may be surprised as to what is actually taking place and how far censorship can go. Lee Enterprises (https://lee.net/markets/) which runs the Omaha World-Herald, Lincoln Journal Star, and other papers, has shut off comments on their article pages.
For alternatives, I recommend the Epoch Times (https://www.theepochtimes.com/) and the Washington Examiner (https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/).
For those using social media, I recommend you have at least 4 to 6 different services. Many people will tell me “but there are so few people there”, which may be true but there are far fewer bots, trolls, and censors. Gab is one (https://gab.com) but there is also Truth Social (https://truthsocial.com/) and GETTR (https://gettr.com/). MeWe (https://mewe.com) is also another and protects your privacy. Many companies are removing Facebook over privacy issues (https://notthebee.com/article/major-companies-have-begun-stripping-facebook-login-buttons-from-their-websites-due-to-privacy-concerns).
One other thing you should know about social media. There are two types of users. Those which only look and lurk. And those which post and interact. If you use Facebook and Twitter, it is best to only be a lurker. The other social media are easier to interact, “like “ and comment with other users.
There are many other forms of censorship taking place. You may find certain emails going to spam or you may find your favorite email service is acting up. There are news stories appearing on such matters and some are suspicious (https://notthebee.com/article/axios-snapchat-accidentally-let-democrats-tap-into-massive-amounts-of-republicans-user-data-to-target-ads-ahead-of-midterms). Even events can get canceled (https://notthebee.com/article/apparently-eventbrite-an-event-scheduling-and-promotion-platform-has-been-canceling-events-screening-matt-walshs-what-is-a-woman-documentary-for-months).
So stay alert and reach out to your favorite political groups.
