There are many new conservative films but some have really put out much more effective films. Dailywire.com with Matt Walsh is growing into the market (https://www.dailywire.com/videos/am-i-racist-official-trailer). Tucker Carlson has put out the series The Art of the Surge (https://tuckercarlson.com/art-of-the-surge-episode-1)
But the biggest and more consequential player is Angel Studios which released Mike Rowe’s Something to Stand For (https://www.angel.com/watch/something-to-stand-for-with-mike-rowe).
Now, Angel Studios will release Bonhoeffer about a pastor in Nazi Germany
Yet, Salem Now, another conservative outlet, has put out a similar take on the Church, with their film Letter to the American Church (https://watch.salemnow.com/series/jlki1MfUJgjA-letter-to-the-american-church). Both focus on Bonhoeffer, a German pastor who objected to the NAZIs in a movement known as the Confessing Church (https://www.britannica.com/topic/Confessing-Church).
What I find striking is both of these films appear to be an open challenge to Evangelicals and other Christians to ask, where is God in all this? Is the Bible meant to be set aside or worse, discarded in favor of the modern culture as well as embracing murderous ideas? Or is this just another attempt to suggest Christians should challenge Trump or realize his flaws? Or are Evangelicals going to sit home this election cycle?
The Covid Pandemic is still impacting the views of many. The masks did not work. The vaccines were largely worthless. Closing Houses of Worship was a mistake. Closing of schools harmed the children. But where were the clergy? The Reckoning has arrived. Where are you positioned at?
