Bacon Keeps on Flipping His Lips in the Wind!
What is the Congressman thinking in running to the press and shooting his mouth about the Freedom Caucus being “cowboys”? No press release (until now https://bacon.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=1146). Just typical grandstanding to harm conservatives. This is what the Main Street Caucus does (https://bacon.house.gov/mainstreetcaucus/).
The Congressman obviously has no interest in negotiating or helping tackle the debt or reigning in the FBI, and if he does, he just torched those who do. He basically plays a Tetris game with his votes trying to make him look good but being totally self-serving and useless. If you want to know why the red wave turned into a trickle, blame McCarthy and the Main Street Caucus. These people are lobbyists who just want to keep the money flowing from DC and into their own pockets. They play nice with Democrats and claim they are pragmatic, but it is all show just to keep the money flowing.

The Congressman should be more circumspect, but it just does not suit him. There was “clinging to their guns and Bibles”. There were “deplorables”. Now Bacon chimes in with “cowboys”. No wonder he could not win over Douglas County! Contact him (https://bacon.house.gov/contact/) and ask why does he keeps running to the media when it is not in the best interest of any Republican to do so? What were you thinking?

Specifically, the conservative Members who are voting against Kevin McCarthy want the following three reforms:
Return to the rules of the 114th Congress, including restoring a vote of “no confidence” that was part of the House rules for 200 years, but taken out by Nancy Pelosi so she could run the House like a dictator. They also want Members to have the right to offer amendments on all major legislation, such as appropriations. It is unacceptable that in the last six years there have been no – zero – amendments on legislation permitted from rank-and-file Members brought to a vote;
Congressional Leadership Fund – known as Kevin McCarthy’s Leadership PAC -- should be prohibited from spending money or providing grants to any super PAC to oppose conservative Members or conservative candidates in Republican primaries.
Give conservatives a seat at the table. A true conservative Representative must also be included in House Republican Leadership so that voters who elected them will have their voices heard over the Washington Lobbyists.
You are not fully aware of the Freedom Cacaus objectives. They are reactionary objectors and mostly back-benchers seeking attention. Rep. McCarthy was Voted Leader with about 180 votes the sore loser hardliners are blowing up the chances for showing Republican Majority leadership. In an organization that geographically and ideologically diverse, team play is critical and compromise is the only path to success. Happy to comment further.
