Update: apparently Ian Aeillo has deleted his post!
So, some took issue with my take about privacy on the Douglas County Assessor website (https://andrewlsullivan.substack.com/p/assessor-abandons-privacy-control).
Well, some guy named Ian Aeillo managed to post to social media X, formerly Twitter, property tax information about Mayor Stothert and her private home. Jane Kleeb, the chair of the Nebraska Democrat Party reposted it.
Ian Aeillo apparently received the screenshot from some other unknown person. Notice the word “Sincerely” near the bottom of the image. The image he received has been selectively edited. A review of Stothert’s property from the Assessor site shows, not even Mayor Stothert has been spared from higher property evaluations. See the image below showing a 63 thousand valuation increase from a few short years ago:
However, perhaps the assessed value is too low. Zillow says the house is worth far more.
Also, the Assessor site links to tax information from the Douglas County Treasurer. A quick check shows Stothert regularly pays her taxes.
However, Mayor Stothert does have some advantages most residents of Omaha do not. She lives in a gated community which prevented Google from providing any street view on their maps as shown below. This provides privacy and protection. (I wonder if she ever steps into the Infusion Brewery for a cold beer.)
If you approach the gate as shown below, you can see a sign on the far right stating a neighborhood watch group exists. Hmm, I wonder why.
So... does it count as doxxing if the info about a public official's home address is available in the open on a County Assessor site?
I know Ian, he has published my private information on Twitter, i consider him to be a very dangerous person.
