Congratulations to Congressman Don Bacon on being re-elected! I am glad you won, but unlike so many others, I had no doubts you would win. Democrats are too radical and war is brewing in foreign lands. With such troubles, a man of military experience provides comfort.
However, I tried to warn Bacon to pay attention to economic issues, particularly Club for Growth, property taxes, and so forth. To be fair, Bacon push for "no taxes on tips" but it never seemed to garner attention. Apparently, some on the political left had keyed into some of the things I said. Tony Vargas mentioned “cutting property taxes” and economics in his ads. Vargas was so misleading in saying so.
However, I did not expect the Democrats to just dump as much money into the race as they could into the race. Yet, money does not win political races. Skill, tenacity and organization do. This is why people, such as Bacon’s campaign manager Matthew Zacher, matter.
However, Bacon probably could have gained a few thousand more votes had he shown up at various shooting ranges and encouraged gun enthusiasts to register to vote, particularly in Douglas County. People respond to such personal interaction. This would have encouraged more to vote.
Anyways, none of it matters for now. Welcome Bacon back to his Congressional office as a representative from Nebraska. Congratulations Don!
I literally had to talk other Republicans into voting for Bacon. The best argument I had was that he would certainly vote for a Republican speaker of the house. That's kind of a low bar.
I sincerely hope Don starts focusing on issues at home. Trump will impose a peace on the Russians and Ukrainians, that's already apparent. Trump's election was welcomed by terrorist leadership getting kicked out of Qatar and Palestinian calls for a cease fire. It's time for Bacon to get on the Trump train and keep his mouth shut in front of the press.
Bacon needs to stop alienating Republican and Independent voters by trying to court votes from Democrats. My friends who live in his district have had plenty to say about this.
