Nebraska Taxpayers for Freedom (https://www.netaxpayers.org/) has been at the forefront of fighting for low taxes and limited government. They challenged bond issues which inflate the size of government. Recently, they sent out notices to members in the Westside School District where there is an effort to pass a bond issue (https://www.westside66.org/domain/629). The bond issue will result in a tax levy increase but by how much is still not realistically known. The issue will be voted on in May, and if I recall correctly, it is completely by mail-in ballot. These bond issues nearly always pass unless people pull the breaks on it.

Another reason the bond will probably pass is the Westside School Board has frequently lowered the levy (but not by much). At the same time, public support for Westside Schools is shown in the Foundation supporting the schools (https://wcsfoundation66.org/support/the-w-club/). Add to this, Westside voters have approved cap overrides in the past.

However, Westside still has a major problem of bureaucratic overhead. Superintendent Dr. Mike Lucas is part of it. Nebraska Taxpayers for Freedom shared this video from Accuracy in Media (https://aim.org/).

Just when you want to laugh at conspiracy theorists, Lucas flat-out tells you there is action behind the scenes by unions and others to prevent school choice and more. How more elitist do you need to get? How much of a conspiracy do you need?

Many naive people do not understand what Critical Race Theory is or what is being channeled on race relations. They just assume it is about talking about racism in American history. However, the Theory is bolstered as a claim of inclusion and
equity but actually boils down to demanding minorities can only be recognized as victims and white people are always abusive of minorities.

With such claims, you have to wonder why the District’s leadership is basically all white people (https://www.westside66.org/domain/390) spewing out this nonsense. What is this? New and improved White Supremacy? Dr. Kelcy Tapp makes it clear in the video, they will just find another way to label what they are doing. More annoying, is she praises the leadership of Lucas, who clearly is more concerned about politics. Lucas has got to go! Let the school board know! See contact information at:
