How NOT to Handle Sexual Harassment
Nebraska Examiner Doubles Down on Hearsay
No protection orders. No police files. No photographic evidence. Only hearsay years old. No law enforcement, just an investigating reporter. So with great cynism, I read the latest take from the Nebraska Examiner at:
From the article, I learned just how pathetic people are in dealing with sexual harassment and actually encourage it. Edward Boone says he saw Herbster manhandle women, offered to intervene, but did not. Boone is pathetic.
If he actually saw Herbster fondle women, he should have confronted him and told him his behavior was not acceptable. At the very least, he should have told organizers of the event what happened. How did he sleep night after night in not saying anything?
Worse yet is this: “Boone said he asked the woman afterward if she wanted him to intervene with Herbster. She said no. She “wanted to put this traumatic experience behind her,” Boone said.” In other words, she did not want to hold Herbster accountable, and preferred to forgive and forget, until the 2022 election. These are pathetic people.
How can you expect me or anyone to take sexual harassment seriously if you did not counter Herbster? Or are your words mere fiction? You expect me to take the allegations seriously when you were the witness or victim and could have intervened and did not act. This is blatantly unfair.
Wealth? Power? Nonsense. You have to tell people when their behavior is deplorable. If you want to stop sexual harassment, teach people how to stand up to it and report it -- when it happens -- not years later.
