Between Tucker Carlson and dozens of others opposed to war, they fail to understand world affairs. They say the USA should not be the world’s policeman and should only protect the USA. But without the USA, who will end up policing or terrorizing the world? China? North Korea? Iran? Russia? At some point, the United States has to act.
Trump has not really outlined his vision for the world, but it is evident he wants Europe to fund NATO obligations to keep Russia at bay. Trump has instead wanted to focus on China, but Iran has been getting in the way.
Those objecting to war continuously bring up the Iraq War and “weapons of mass destruction” while ignoring the danger Saddam Hussein was to the region. Iran’s leader Ali Khamenei also poses a threat to the region (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ali_Khamenei).
At the same time, comparing the Iraq situation to Iran is not the same. Iraq is an Arab country, but Iran is not. Iran has, through proxies, attacked many Arab countries (https://www.wilsoncenter.org/article/irans-islamist-proxies and https://www.unitedagainstnucleariran.com/proxy-wars/map). This is why Israel actually has quiet support from Arab countries, despite their public condemnations of the attacks.
Some may object to my sources but Iran has pushed fights through Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Gaza, and Yemen as well as other areas. Ali Khamenei is one of the original revolutionaries of Iran.
This is when the US Embassy in Iran was stormed and Americans were taken hostage (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran_hostage_crisis). But perhaps such events are too long ago for people to consider.
I had a tiny dust up with Tucker. He had been in Japan and went on and on how we should
be more like they are. I spent a lot of time in Japan during the Vietnam War. Was there nine/ten days a month for three years. Yes, the food is good, people nice. BUT, I reminded him of Pearl Harbor, the Bataan death March. Still think they are upset about WWII.
When they become familiar with you some masks drop.
Tucker seems very naive.
