Update: I have removed an anonymous commenter who has accused Clarice Jackson of favoring Critical Race Theory and done so without any evidence to back up their argument. In addition, the person stated they were so “glad Christy won”. Oh, such people speak way too soon. The Christy Armendariz campaign has its work cut out for it. Her opponent fills out surveys while Armendariz has not (https://www.voterinformation.org/races/general-2022/legislature-district-18--/). Armendariz needs support, not sh*tposters. Moms For Liberty (https://www.momsforliberty.org/) is an organization growing across the United States. Their pledge is grand and true:
“I pledge to honor the fundamental rights of parents including, but not limited to the right to direct the education, medical care, and moral upbringing of their children. I pledge to advance policies that strengthen parental involvement and decision-making, increase transparency, defend against government overreach, and secure parental rights at all levels of government.“
They have now organized in Douglas County (https://www.momsforliberty.org/chapters/douglas-county-ne/)
The organization was the result of the oppressive COVID policies. Other issues are the advances of Critical Race Theory, gender issues and pornographic materials in the education systems. Christopher Rufo has been explaining the problems with Critical Race theory and gender issues (see interview at https://rumble.com/v1ky0ij-sidebar-with-christopher-f.-rufo-viva-and-barnes-live.html). There is also the push of the fictional 1619 Project attacking parents (https://www.foxnews.com/politics/bills-targeting-1619-project)
This parents’ group should group and spread well across Nebraska. They give Nebraska a Madison moment worth having.
I am certain more issues will have to be confronted. The climate change alarmists are pushing vegan diets on people (https://omaha.com/opinion/columnists/midlands-voices-city-officials-should-follow-festersen-s-lead-on-climate/article_a68a4040-35ed-11ed-938f-ffa6fdbb9114.html) and our scaring children with every change of the weather by ignoring positive facts (https://nypost.com/2022/09/06/theres-plenty-of-good-news-about-the-environment/ and https://www.heritage.org/environment/commentary/stop-scaring-the-children).
Another issue parents must confront: Nebraska still has low scores for reading. In part, this is because Nebraska does not do well in diagnosing reading disorders. Clarice Jackson has advocated for children regarding reading and is a council member of the Learning Community of Douglas and Sarpy Counties (https://learningcommunityds.org/coordinating-council/members/).
She is also on board with Voice Advocacy Center which assists with reading disabilities, particularly dyslexia (https://www.voiceadvocacycenter.org/board/) Reading is so important to unlocking the mind and fostering critical reasoning and must not be neglected. I found the graphic about Jackson above to be so inspirational, I thought it deserved to be posted here as she has run for office and won one, but lose another. She will not let defeat stop her.
The fight for freedom will be fatiguing and there will be losses along the way, but the fight must continue for the sake of posterity and prosperity. Mothers for Liberty is in such a fight and they will find many allies along the way. Consider joining and spreading the word.
