So the news is filled with the new Nebraska tax cuts passed by the Unicameral. There was so much politics. Leftist Senators Machaela Cavanaugh, Megan Hunt, John Cavanaugh, Matt Hansen and Wendy DeBour came up with all sorts of strategies to stop the many bills on tax cuts. The clock was running out and the ever looming eyes of consumption tax advocates put the pressure on the Senators. Eventually, one tax bill after another was folded into the next until it snowballed and no senator could oppose it. Yet the Cavanaughs and Hunt were not present: a big “eff yew” to tax cuts. These leftist Senators could have helped the poor and middle classes with their own tax cut proposals but never did. How about abolishing the lowest tax bracket for example? Hey, I circled it for them!
All good news for The Lindstrom for governor campaign as he had worked hard to stop taxing Social Security. For Governor Ricketts the tax cuts are a huge win. Ricketts has kept a strong interest in the economy. He is one of only 9 governors to win an A in preserving the economy during COVID, from the Committee to Unleash Prosperity. Now he can add tax cuts as a badge! https://committeetounleashprosperity.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Governors-Report-Card-Updated1.pdf
Later, when the EPIC consumption tax came up for a vote, Senators Megan Hunt and Machaela Cavanaugh voted for it! This was pure political cover as both are up for election this year and are running away from their anti-tax cut obstructionism. Vote these candidates out!

If you really want to support any candidate who supports the EPIC consumption tax, support gubernatorial candidate Breland Ridenour, as he is the only statewide candidate supporting EPIC. (https://www.ridenourforgovernor.com/issues)
With these tax cuts, many politicians think the concerns over taxes have receded, ye, the economy keeps changing and is more fluid than ever. Peter Theil, a co-founder of Paypal, has been advocating for crypto currencies because such currencies work better in a fluid economy. In his advocacy for crypto currencies, Theil is now being more direct in taking on opponents by name such as Warren Buffett. A fluid economy is hard to tax if taxation heavily focuses on income and property. If you really want to get a sense of how crypto currency and taxes come together, listen to investor Jaspreet Singh. He explains in this video how the pandemic has changed our economy forever. The ideas of “home” and “place” are changing in the new fluid economy and crypto currencies plays a role. By the way, his religion is Sikh and he is from India and resides in Detroit. See video below:
