If you recall, Nebraska sends out tens of thousand of mail-in ballots (https://nebraskaexaminer.com/2024/04/08/first-early-ballots-mailed-out-in-nebraskas-first-election-with-voter-id/). Nearly half are from Douglas County. Yet, there is no way to challenge such registered voters.
When it comes to election integrity, there are very few organizations with serious credibility but True The Vote (https://truethevote.org/) is near the top. They run a program you can join called IV3, Independent Voter Validation & Verification (https://www.iv3.us/). I joined and I became quite angry at my discovery.
Nebraska has very weak procedures for challenging registered voters. IV3 states the following (you will need to click image to view all):
Yet True the Vote shows, the National Conference of State Legislatures show many reasons to contest voter registrants (https://www.ncsl.org/elections-and-campaigns/voter-registration-list-maintenance).
So how many voter registrations are questionable? Try over 11,000 in Douglas County which is well above a mere 1 percent. And this is just on data based on where people moved.
Douglas County Election Commissioner Brian Kruse is a nice guy. Secretary of State Bob Evnen is a polite guy and a good speaker. There is no animosity here from me to them. If they invited me to a celebration of their wedding anniversary, I would bring a bottle of brandy or whiskey and praise them for what they have accomplished. I am not a mean person, but when it comes to the election procedures, they have been way too pollyannaish (https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/pollyannish) and ignored the malevolent forces undermining the voting process. At the same time, the Nebraska law is undermining my ability to report problems with the voter registrations, and no one gives damn. These election officials have not embolden reform but opposed it because they choose to see no flaws.
Let me give you a clue as to how inept election officials are. With mail-in ballot, voter intimidation is far more common, especially among the vulnerable populations such as young people and the elderly. “Vote for Biden or I will kick you out of the house” or “If you do not prove to me you voted for Biden, I won’t pay your car insurance” a parent says to their 19 year old child, in demanding to see their ballot. “Vote for Biden, or I send you to hospice care” says a person to their elderly parent. So you say ”Oh,Andrew, you are engaging in fantasy”. Nope. What is happening on the left is a very strident movement seeking power and there is no way to measure the intimidation.
Andrew, you really should keep your brandy and whiskey for people who actually mean you well.
These two may come off as nice--all the very best manipulators do--but what they are doing is wrecking any faith in Nebraska's elections. People had already figured out that their votes weren't worth much, if anything before COVID--it was a serious contributing to factor as to why voter turnout is so low--but these two have upped the ante by several magnitudes since.
We need a clean sweep of them and their cronies, and a concerted effort to take back our state government for Nebraskans and kick the special interests to the curb.
We've all heard the line - voting is important....
Is it really? Its so important that one cannot pry themselves out of their easy chair for 10 minutes election day and go vote? People spend more time deciding dinner or what show to watch. Mail in voting should not exist. Early voting should be for the infirm and those that can prove they must be out of town thats it.
We have two types on this spectrum. Those that want to steal elections and will lie and those that do not believe that these liars exit. Brian and Evnen are the latter. Groups like the ACLU and the leadership of the Democrat party are the former.
