Occupy Greenland!
Remember Grenada
Invading Greenland grabs headlines, but nothing could be more misleading. This is because of geographic illiteracy.
The little island of Grenada (https://www.cia.gov/the-world-factbook/countries/grenada/) has twice as many people as Greenland (https://www.cia.gov/the-world-factbook/countries/greenland/) and the USA “invaded” Grenada decades ago (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_invasion_of_Grenada). Grenada is tiny compared to Greenland when it comes to land area (https://www.mylifeelsewhere.com/country-size-comparison/grenada/greenland).
Since Denmark owns Greenland, people should realize how small Denmark (https://www.cia.gov/the-world-factbook/countries/denmark/) is and how it was overrun by NAZIs (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denmark_in_World_War_II) during World War II. So realistically, how well can Denmark defend Greenland from China and Russia?
Congressman Don Bacon says Trump would be impeached if he “invades” Greenland. He has little understanding of what such an “invasion” would look like. Basically, it would amount to two US Army battalions going camping in Greenland. In fact, who needs the Army? Just let a bunch of US citizens immigrate to Greenland. This is why Denmark will eventually get serious about negotiating with the USA.

When my husband was active duty Air Force, he spent a year stationed in Greenland. It seems to me that you would have to be hardy and financially independent to immigrate there. Even then, 1991-92, they were talking about Greenlandic home rule... Which hasn't happened yet. Perhaps Andrew, you would like to do some research on how socialism has affected Denmark's ability, not just their size.
