Randy Essex, the former editor of the World Herald wrote an essay on race and Republicans for the Omaha NOISE at link below:

Essex took issue with Republican candidates for Governor mentioning Critical Race Theory (CRT). Almost immediately, Essex reveals his severe bias by accusing Republican candidates of the “latest edition of the Republican playbook that brought us George H.W. Bush’s Willie Horton ads”.
Essex is stuck in an ivory tower, isolated from events and is pontificating academic talking points. During the COVID pandemic, kids were learning from home and parents saw what their kids were being taught. With the George Floyd riots and the calls to defund the police, newspapers like the World Herald published volumes of racial essays full of false and misleading information, knowing anyone providing a counter view would be called a racist, white nationalist or white supremacist. Many businesses, schools and universities started do racial programs and surveys asking things like, “do you know what White privilege is?” I have been subjected to a racist seminar where White men were portrayed as a danger in the workplace. Essex apparently has not, yet the evidence is abundant.
For multi-racial families, all this racial talk is garbage. They know such racial discussions only make individuals, both White and Black, feel powerless and subjected to futility and entrapped by their race. No matter what the incident or event is, the race hustlers want you to think this or that event was all about racism and if you disagree with them, well, you are a racist!
Many Black persons are victims of crime because their right to carry a gun is infringed. Many Black persons are also victims of illiteracy from a public education system afraid of telling a parent, “your kid can’t read. Have you tried using flash cards with them?” Illiteracy and the racism of low expectations is the last vestige of slavery, but we already know this. The best advocates of literacy and freedom of speech come from Frederick Douglas to Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. Literacy opens doors and whole worlds yet few do anything to promote literacy.
Essex’s academic viewpoint: it is detached from reality. The most dangerous thing to a Black man is often another Black man, not racism. If the legacy media had any honesty at all, instead of talking about “gangs”, they would admit there is Black organized crime operating criminal enterprises involved in drugs, prostitution, and gambling which exploit Black people in the inner cities. Such criminal enterprises love hearing “defund the police”. Fortunately, many Black people have moved out, moved up and moved on.
At the same time, Essex basically encourages a pity complex on Black people. I am not invalidating the negative experiences Black people have had, but people have all sorts of negative experiences, overcome such experiences, and still succeed. Yet, there are those who just want to profit off of racial discord as Jon Stewart does here.
Stewart understands the false framing of problems. Stewart is merely hooking problems to racism and falsely assigning blame to White people instead of addressing the actual problems. Essex basically replicates the false framing. Both men should read Thomas Sowell’s books who has covered all of these topics (http://tsowell.com/)
A Black mother is raising her son and trying to discipline him. She coverts to the Nation of Islam after she discovers her child cannot read. She realized her son’s public school was a “school in name only” or SINO. She sees a need for discipline in her family and pulls her son out of school to home school him. Is this a reaction to racism or merely a mother determined to improve the life of her son? This mother was my co-worker for many years. Black, woman, Muslim, does not matter. She is an American who sees a problem and fixes it.
So what training should be done to combat racism? Chloé Valdary has a very unique approach in training people to understand those they differ from. Her training busts the problems of most anti-racism programs. See link below and learn.
