Update: The climate change plan cost $376,357 (https://www.cityofomaha.org/latest-news/994-climate-action-consultant-selected-to-create-omaha-plan).
First, some housekeeping. My apologies to those who read my posts through email. I have pasted many images with comments in this article which negatively impacts transmission of this article to your email box, forcing you to visit the link to get here to read the article but I am really glad you’re here.
The City of Omaha has a Climate Action and Resilience Plan, CARP (https://www.omacap.org/). Next to no one is going to read the 150 pages of idiocy. Let me be clear and upfront, I am a climate-change atheists. This idea of man-made carbon dioxide impacting the climate is full of false assumptions with no solid proofs to back them up. Earth’s climate is governed by water, more specifically, water vapor. If you are proud “atheist” on the man-made climate change theory, and need to convince people, send them over to CO2 Coalition (https://co2coalition.org/).
As to the Omaha plan known as CARP, it is full of empty platitudes and stupidity and does not involve any meaningful or useful actions. Reading it is like listening to bunch of 4 and 5 year olds talking about where babies come from.
First, the plan plays into all the Diversity Equity and Inclusion nonsense. Here is a dedication to Native Americans:
The whole document is littered with pieces like this. Yet another example:
What infuriates me is how even the presenters of this publication treat their readers like children. Why this silly image?
Next is the persistent use of fearmongering using flawed and false information. CO2 cannot do what they are claiming. It is an outright lie.
The EPA is full of this bad information. They have no idea what they are talking about. I would love to see the details as to the method behind this statistic below because in reality, death from climate disasters have dropped (https://nypost.com/2022/04/30/deaths-in-climate-disasters-declined-99-from-a-century-ago/).
And it never stops. Between racial minorities and supposed climate change, you can clearly see the progressives idiotic mindset. Oppose the plan and I guess you are a racist saying “Hey, I drive a car to kill Black people and so should you!”
And next is the absurd projections. Advice for all people, if you want to look like an idiot, make a projection as to what will happen in the future about things you do not control, and you will look quite silly. In this case, the temperature increase in Omaha is known as the urban heat-island effect. This has absolutely nothing to do with CO2 and these projections will never be realized.
Next comes the salesman to sell you a new car! This time an EV. For all of you driving electric vehicles thinking you reduced your carbon footprint, please note, most electricity is still generated by fossil fuels. Yet, somebody has to sell expensive cars to rich people while the rest of us struggle with paying for a car running on gas.
Poverty? Yep, left-wing talking point. I am experiencing happiness-poverty in reading this climate plan.
Sometimes, an odd fact pops-out. If you think CO2 mostly comes from cars, you are wrong. It is your house and this plan wants you to freeze to death in it.
Also, the plan reeks of totalitarianism in how far it goes. Hitler, Stalin, Mao, and Castro would love this amount of control over people.
You think I would be finished, but there is more! The plan relies heavily on community surveys which are not science, but politics. What is this? The Family Feud show? Well…….
Let us be honest. People want heat, which should be the main focus on energy (https://www.3newsnow.com/central-omaha/why-tenants-in-omaha-are-living-without-sufficient-heat).
And to top it all off, is the space wasted on self-help nannyism. Why this is in the plan is beyond me and the people who put this in the publication should be shamed for doing this. Could they not list this as advocacy? Why is it in this plan?
How much did they pay a woo-woo climate scammer or "consultant," to come with this?
