Open Sky is a left-wing “economic think” tank and proclaims to be a neutral “think” tank. They have repeatedly attacked any tax cuts as “defunding government” operations. They have slammed the EPIC Consumption tax with false information. Their motives are questionable. Open Sky contributors are probably behind the KFAB ads against LB 939 which would lower the income tax. Dark money anyone? The ad refers to this site: https://www.neforall.org
Yet, Open Sky is open about their opposition to such tax changes in the tax code. See image below:
So who is on their “research” team? Their 9 member research committee only has two economists and no tax preparers. There are two former tax commissioners. Yet, the committee has an anthropologist as well as an AARP advocate. Seven members of the committee are connected to universities and educational institutions. If you want a committee doing research on property taxes, you would think there would be a realtor on the board, but there is none. See image below:
But it gets worse. Open Sky has a “racial equity” committee. Reminder, equity is a racist policy put into action. Such policies place a person’s race about their own merit or lack thereof. As such equity policies are pushed, the policies will come into conflict with civil rights laws. Why is Open Sky doing this? See image below:
And it gets worse. Do you know who Ja Keen Fox is, who appears on the committee as shown above? He was removed from Mayor Stothert’s LGBQT+ advisory board for praising a Black racist for killing 5 police officers. See image and story link below:
But you might ask: who is Micah Xavier Johnson? See these links:

Oh, and if this was not bad enough, Civic Nebraska provided Ja Keen Fox with a “Defender of Democracy” award after the scandal. See link below:

Does anyone care to guess what Ja Keen Fox thinks of the EPIC consumption tax? I wonder if Open Sky Policy Institute knows or cares. Do you wonder what your state senator thinks?
