I have no understanding of what is going on with the political left. Under President Obama, confronting immigration was normal. The Democrats have had a history of opposing immigration, while Republicans have supported immigration.
But over the years, things appear to have flipped, or have they? Latest news suggests Trump is willing to support immigration (https://www.reuters.com/world/us/trump-promises-immigration-order-soon-farm-leisure-workers-2025-06-12/). To add, the World Bank agreed with Trump’s assertion of the USA being treated unfairly on trade (https://nypost.com/2025/06/10/us-news/world-bank-agrees-with-trumps-trade-complaints-urges-countries-to-lower-tariffs-on-us/).
However, what captivated my attention was the “No Kings” protests in Nebraska as reported by RightCheer.com (https://rightcheer.com/no-kings-bolsheviks-and-jacobins-in-a-modern-day-revolution/). Why is the left radicalizing? Why are elected officials killed (https://www.reuters.com/business/media-telecom/minnesota-state-lawmakers-shot-search-underway-suspect-local-media-reports-say-2025-06-14/)? Why is the left so focused on Trump instead of focusing on policy?
In part, their objection to Trump is that he is simply too pragmatic and knows when to pivot on issues. But this can be done by many competent politicians. So why is Trump such a lightning rod for the left?
Conservatives are accustomed to being censored and seeking other avenues to be heard. Conservatives are accustomed to debate, learning, and know when to agree to disagree. The left simply is not, and engages in self-censorship and this has made them brainless and reactionary. Dare I say, a Zombie Party of Raging Ignorance?
Trump is a very divisive president, which is what makes him powerful in getting things done. Democrats are nowhere near figuring Trump out, but about half of Republicans can’t figure him out either. For illustration, Trump will point to a group of people who are idealists and not well attuned to the real world, and accuse them of being something, such as communists. The group, having never had to debate their ideas, splits with half denying they are communists and the other half defending communism. Trump succeeds in dividing his worst opposition, yet many have yet to figure this out. So, in their ignorance, the only thing Democrats can do is unite in hating Trump. Hence, the “No Kings’ protest. It is an ignorant farce, based on hate and malice. These are the echo chambers and cults of the left.
Even with simple local stories about Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Omaha, the crux of the story is lost (https://flatwaterfreepress.org/ice-raids-hit-omaha-meatpacking-plants/). Such reporting neglects: the raids were triggered by “suspected use of stolen or fraudulent identification by workers to gain employment” (https://nebraskaexaminer.com/2025/06/13/protesters-use-cws-as-backdrop-to-decry-trump-immigration-policies-raids/). The fact an employer relied on e-Verify, but it failed to detect identity theft is quite shocking to the average person, but not to Progressive Democrats, and thus more chaos from the left. Republicans and conservatives really need to exploit this point, and not let the Zombie Party of Raging Ignorance get around it.
Andrew, you are always on point. Thank you so much for your analysis!
Excellent article. So hope for normal. When some dope stops a woman from going to work, he is protesting- what.? He also sneers at her going to work. Does the left not get how this plays.
Now people killed at their front door - what the hell has happened?
I watched some of the 250th anniversary of the Army and felt pride in this country. I’m old
but have been many places and really this is the best country. Flew military to Vietnam for three years. Many commercial airlines did so. I was young but soldiers were kids really. I’m pretty
anti-war for that reason. Have always thought a few months in West Africa would have you
so happy to beAmerician.
