One thing I hate about veterans running for political office is no matter how inept and stupid they are, they will nearly always win the election. This is because there is a small but strong minority who will show up no matter what to vote for someone with military experience, particularly in military conflicts such as in Ukraine and Israel. However, having opposition in the primaries is always helpful.
In being registered to vote, you are subject to jury duty, as well as if you have a driver’s license. Judging by how many are registered to vote, but did not show up to vote, suggests people registered to vote to increase their odds of receiving jury duty! But more likely apathy caused them not to show up. However, when there is heavy competition, people do show up.
Here is the count of registered voters in Douglas County:
Clearly, the Democrats lead in voter registration over Republicans and there is a large number of voters who are registered nonpartisan. Well, take a look at who actually showed up in Douglas County to vote. I highlight numbers of interest.
What matters here is Republicans showed up in mass which helped down-ballot candidates. Combine Democrat and nonpartisan voters and Republicans still beat them! A lot of political experts and professional political consultants will argue over this. However, having opposing candidates in the party keeps voters engaged in the process. Now the general election is a whole different game, but now with Republicans motivated to vote, they will show up.
Douglas County Commissioner Maureen Boyle is set to be replaced by a Republican Sean Kelly.
John Sullivan for the Metro Transport came ahead:
So don’t despair! There were victories on election day! Please feel free to add more because I did not pay attention to every single race.
