Nancy Hicks, Chairman of the Douglas Republican Party, sent out an email of interest. Most of her points are spot on, but I wanted remembrance of just how broken the current situation is.
With the ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) raid of Glenn Valley Foods in Omaha, people have proven their partisan guard rails are blinding them. Would the thought occur to anyone, ICE received a report from a Hispanic-American about the identities stolen by illegal immigrants hired by Glenn Valley Foods? The prejudice is great here.
Democrats have a history of being the anti-immigrant party, but this all flipped over the last decade or so. On immigration, Trump stole from Democrats such as Barbara Jordan and Caesar Chavez. Barbara Jordan was a black American and staunch Democrat, yet Trump praised her (https://thehill.com/opinion/immigration/369153-barbara-jordans-wisdom-is-needed-in-todays-immigration-debate/).
Hispanic Casar Chavez was even more adamant about opposing illegal immigration because such illegals would be exploited, and caused depressed wages for lawful immigrants (https://www.perplexity.ai/search/what-was-caesar-chavez-s-stanc-xFwCALwXSLmhGfG8UoWPQA#0). Dare I tell you he referred to such illegals as “wetbacks”? He did. With ICE going after Glenn Valley Foods, I suspect an insider reported the hiring problems to ICE.
So here comes the Los Angelas anti-ICE protests. Want to know another interesting fact? Chavez organized a boycott against grapes because of how farm laborers were treated in. . .. wait for it. . .
