The 2022 election is so weird, many of the smarter political experts are waiting for more information before making any conclusions. Others are pouncing on the election as “proof” of Trump’s “failure” (https://www.3newsnow.com/news/political/citing-name-calling-lack-of-self-control-rep-don-bacon-blames-trump-for-gop-midterm-underperformance) or Sen. Mitch McConnell’s failure or some take on “election denialism”. Most of the analysis is too flippant.
Yet, none seem to notice what the problem is with the widespread use of mail-in ballots. Ironically, the problem pops up in the oddest of places such as The View (https://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/nicholas-fondacaro/2022/11/08/did-sunny-hostin-just-admit-committing-voter-fraud).
The vital words to know: chain-of-custody. With mail-in ballots, so many hands can be involved. The ability to badger the ignorant and apathetic to vote has never been easier. “Did you request a mail-in ballot? Why not?”. Once the voter receives their ballot, all the political campaigns know, and now the voter is a target: “Have you sent your ballot in?”, “Sorry to bother you but we noticed you have not sent your ballot in yet. Please do so soon.” The ballots were harvested just like a crop or worse, hunted like a deer in the field.
In fact, the mail-in ballot has changed campaigns to make idiotic attacks. I was appalled at how the White House attacked “MAGA Republicans” and try to claim it worked (https://thehill.com/homenews/3733190-white-house-adviser-says-painting-maga-republicans-as-extremists-was-effective-strategy/)!
Perhaps offering to cancel student loan debts played a factor as well but those poor students voting for Democrats now see the cancellation has ended (https://studentaid.gov/debt-relief/application). But those mail-in ballots made it so easy to vote.
By pushing the reluctant, the apathetic, and the ignorant to vote, the result was grand support for incumbents. They did little research and let other people tell them how to vote and when confronted with names on the ballots, they voted for the names they recognized. Where there were no incumbents, Republicans won.
As for Congressman Bacon’s comments on Trump, please note, Vargas beat Bacon in Douglas County. Other Republicans won in Douglas County with more votes and they are: Bob Evnen Secretary of state, John Murante State Treasurer, Mike Hilgers Attorney General, Mike Foley Auditor, Walt Peffer County Assessor, Don Kleine County Attorney, Todd Pfitzer County Engineer, Aaron Hanson County Sheriff (https://www.votedouglascounty.com/meer/GN22_Results7.pdf) Bacon, you got some thinking to do.
Also, Georgia should be on your mind! Walker needs your support in the election runoff (https://secure.senateconservatives.com/lwm32/d).
