The reason the news media is going to the garbage is the absence of a cosmopolitan viewpoints and integrity. People want the whole store, not a partisan driven narrative.. Why is it so difficult for reporters to at least be more nuanced unless they have evidence to the contrary? Why can't the news media stay true to their mission statements in informing the public?
Nebraska Examiner openly states: “Nebraskans want accountability from their elected officials and government. Are their tax dollars well-spent? Are state agencies and local governments responsive to the people? Are officials, programs and policies working for the common good and a better future for our state? The Nebraska Examiner was established to provide a hard-hitting, daily flow of important news, scoops and reports to help us better understand our community. . . . . The Nebraska Examiner is independent, nonprofit and nonpartisan, dedicated to producing a vigorous news report about the Cornhusker State. ” (Emphasis added) (https://nebraskaexaminer.com/about/)
Also, Nebraska Examiner is part of the States Newsroom, which appears is also supposedly dedicated to local issues and claims to be non-partisan (https://statesnewsroom.com/about/).
Yet, Nebraska Examiner publishes articles from Jacob Fischler whose bio reads as: “Jacob covers federal policy as a senior reporter for States Newsroom. Based in Oregon, he focuses on Western issues. His coverage areas include climate, energy development, public lands and infrastructure.” (https://nebraskaexaminer.com/author/jacobfischler/) Oh it sounds so Nebraska doesn’t it? At least the Nebraska Examiner is not trying to hide it. His Twitter account shows he is based in Portland! (https://twitter.com/jacob_fischler.)
Yet, Fischer is pushing the debunked climate change theory, attacks claims of election fraud with coverage of the January 6 Committee, and writes up duplicitous and unnecessary articles such as Biden defending the LGBTQI+ community. Nothing local to see here yet he is gratuitously published in the Nebraska Examiner .
There is more. The fact Fischer is covering “climate” issues, means readers are all going to be subject to the nonsense of the man-made climate change theory. I will say it a billion times: carbon dioxide is plant food. If we reduce carbon emissions, we will hurt the plants! As for greenhouse gases, nothing will ever replace water vapor as the king of greenhouse gases on Earth. Oh, and it does not end there. He is tweeting about kids getting COVID shots and the whole CDC mask thing. Can we please flush all this nonsense?
As for the election, here are the facts. The Republican Party was not well prepared to go after election fraud. Trump did not lawyer-up to fight election issues. Election officials, state after state, were more interested in covering their hineys instead of admitting to gross errors. Legislatures failed to address the great amount of mistakes they made in making it easy to vote during COVID. Dinesh D’Souza and True the Vote have only hit the tip of the iceberg with 2000 Mules. More people are going to be going to jail and the process has only begun, yet Nebraska Examiner has no eyes for it in spite of the fact Nebraska has drop boxes right here in Omaha. I will give Nebraska Examiner 2 points for being open about their reporters, but topics such as these are virtually identical to CNN. Who needs the duplication of information, particularly when there is a bolder rebuttal and local stories to be covered?
