Tom Becka’s Arrogance

So our local Omaha pundit Tom Becka had his say in the Omaha World Herald on May 5^th

Becka made a plea to Mayor Stothert and Governor Pillen who gave some praise to local media over weather reports but let us be honest, it was a standard traditional, patronizing affair. The media would lose money if they did not cover storm and tornado events. Just look to Adam Smith, the author of the Wealth of Nations (https://oll.libertyfund.org/quotes/adam-smith-butcher-brewer-baker):

“It is not from the benevolence of the butcher, the brewer, or the baker, that we expect our dinner, but from their regard to their own interest.”

Becka is living in the stone age. In the digital age, who needs a reporter when you can track weather information directly from the National Weather Service on X (https://twitter.com/nws)? Oh, and even if you have no social media, those spying mobile phones know where you are and when to send you a weather-related warning. Forget the sirens! At 3:13 PM, and Friday, April 26, 2024 everyone with a mobile phone knew something was up and what that something was. Forget all the concerns about CO2 when wind spinning water vapor can take out a bunch of homes! Digital economy rocks, while Becka, like a  tornado, sucks.

Yet, Becka goes on a tirade against Trump, a man who has body-slammed the excessively partisan national news media. This is why much of the national media is the enemy of the people, but Becka does not understand this. Would it ever occur to this brainless, moldy, potato-head pundit, only 36 percent of voters in Douglas County are Democrats (https://www.votedouglascounty.com/)?

To add to the problem, Becka invites Stothert and Pillen to join other  “Republicans” in opposing Trump and he cites the names of: Mike Pence, Chris Christie, former Trump Chief of Staff John Kelly. In other words, the type of “Republicans” who engaged in the strategy of surrender monkeys who gave us Bob Dole, John McCain and Mitt Romney, all who were career politicians who lost in their presidential elections.

Let me make this abundantly clear: Republicans must rip the Democrat Party in half. The Democrats are the Ku Klux Klan party, progressivism, and bad ideas. They need to change. Oh, they are so fond of their rainbow flag! I suggest they rename their party to the Fruit Loops Party! Look at the bowl of cereal! It is full of “diversity”, not of thought, but of colors! At least they would be showing their true colors! But news media people like Becka never challenge the Democrats on anything. Trump does.

I realize many do not like what Trump says or have some issues on some policies on immigration and tariffs, but Trump understands politics and what the dangers are. He is a pragmatist which tends to scare people. He confronts people with what is actually broken, and what does not work. Becka cannot see this. Trump’s detractors too often speak out of envy of what Trump has accomplished and are stymied that they cannot embolden people the way Trump can.

Sorry, Becka. You are on team zero, and the losers for life club. Your calculations are out of whack.
