Progressive Climate Panic Knocks at OPPD

Dystopia! Apocalypse! Rapture! End times! Revelations! All key words causing concern and filled with potential for an alarming narrative. Usually, movies used to exploit such fears such as Soylent Green, Silent Running, Planet of the Apes. As much as I love science-fiction, with the Star Trek Discovery series and the movie Lightyear, it has become mostly “LESBIANS IN SPACE!”, which is rather boring. (Miss the reference? See this

With religion, there is always a group or two talking about the Rapture and the end of the world, and Judgement day. Quoting Genesis, they presume the world will be destroyed by fire and brimstone. Jehovah's Witnesses are an example. The prayers to save the world are great, but in the end, the coffee has gone cold and bitter; a new pot needs to be brewed and the world moves on as before.

With the fall of religion, secular religions have filled the gap and this is where the man-made climate change theory comes into action with panic. Advocates of the theory say the end of the world is near and the planet is going to be set on fire, an apocalyptic global warming. Now, do you see how your local religious person can buy into this panic? Can you see how this secular religion is subverting religion with atheistic doomsayers?

Here is how bad it is. A UNO (University of Nebraska at Omaha) professor is proclaiming we should panic (https://www.ketv.com/article/climate-experts-carbon-emissions-panic-button-moment/40788977) Professor Beth Chalecki is a full-blown panic activist (https://www.unomaha.edu/college-of-arts-and-sciences/political-science/about-us/directory/beth-chalecki.php). She did an interview a few years ago with the progressive Woodrow Wilson Center and flat out advocates for global control of the climate.

Global government advocates can love her ideas.

At the same time, there is so much money being made in pushing the theory. UNL (University of Nebraska at Lincoln) is cashing in on it (https://www.ketv.com/article/drought-climate-change-forecast-future-social-unrest/40800661) You don’t need to be a scientist to detect a marketing scam. What do you hear when someone basically is saying “the world will end soon if you don’t buy my solar panels”?  Martin Luther would probably call those solar panels indulgences! 

Oh, and you must suffer by cutting back on carbon emissions they say to “repent” for the carbon “sins” you have committed against the planet! This is where OPPD is being pushed to end using a coal fire plant, in spite of the coal being needed to insure reliable energy. I am not just a climate change denier as they would call me, but a climate change atheist. I advocate for the vegetation on the planet! The plants love carbon dioxide and we should be happy to give them more. You should love plants! They don’t need to be taken out for a walk and you don’t have to pick up their poop. They don’t riot, bark, or call you a racist or panic. They don't need a bike lane and won't pester you to recycle. They don’t get into pointless arguments and are content standing out in the rain. If only people were more like plants! Seriously, if carbon is to be reduced, what are the consequences for the plants, the crops, and orchards? Such questions must be answered.

So back to Noah. If you read Genesis, you will discover, God says nothing about saving the trees, the flowers, or plants. The Book mentions bringing on food and making the ark out of wood, and an olive branch but is mute about plants. I suppose we can presume Noah brought on many seeds, but this is not mentioned in any important way. The point of Noah is humans can become so corrupt, it becomes easier to save animals instead of souls. Baptism is a replication of the flood in cleansing one's soul of corruption but who wants to get wet?
