Update: Trump reacts https://rumble.com/v5ds3wt-watch-trumps-viral-reaction-to-walzs-family-endorsing-him.html
In the old days, with Minnesota Governor Tim Walz becoming a vice presidential candidate, you would expect his Nebraska background would have been cheerfully covered by the news with integrity and a dose of cynicism. He was born in West Point, Nebraska (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Walz) but apparently discord entered the picture, or should I say photo bombed it? People with the Walz surname in Nebraska are supporting Trump.
Members of the extended Walz family apparently did not want to be presumed to be Democrats in West Point, Nebraska, and had shirts and a photo taken to support Trump. Yes, Snopes checked it out (https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/nebraska-walzs-for-trump). To my surprise, YouTuber conservative Benny Johnson picked up on the issue as did many others.
So why is this picking up such attention nationwide but not in Nebraska media? Perhaps the local media is not concerned about what is happening in other states on the issues which connect with Nebraska voters or perhaps they are merely out of the loop on such viral information.
However, in New York City, YouTuber Jordan Cash has reported on how armed illegal immigrants are taking over apartments. The problem of illegal immigrants has become central in this presidential election. Such problems call into what Presidential candidates and their vice-presidential picks are saying or have done.
Where the illegal immigrants come from is not relevant but the danger they cause is. Nebraskans are engaged and concerned about this issue.
As for Governor Tim Walz, he walked into the controversy by changing Minnesota’s flag to a new flag which is oddly close to the flag of Somalia, an Islamic state (https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2024/aug/06/tweets/tim-walz-didnt-pick-minnesotas-new-flag-and-its-de/). The change appears to have been to appease or appeal to recent Somali immigrants. (Minnesota flag below)
And why would there be any prejudice against Somali immigrants? Just look to Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ilhan_Omar). She is not in the United States to promote America (https://www.frontpagemag.com/ex-somali-pm-rep-omar-doesnt-represent-america-she-represents-somalia/). So what is Walz going to change in US foreign policy and what of immigration policy?

If you have the Walz surname, you have a right to be concerned. At the same time, I question the flag controversy, because the Somalia flag looks nearly identical to the Bonnie Blue flag which has a separate odd history (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bonnie_Blue_flag).

Well, at least it is not a blue dot!
Do you think that there are entities in Nebraska that are doing their best to hide this news from Nebraskan voters? Are you over on Nextdoor at all? I haven't seen anything in my inbox from them since the last time I had a "conversation" with someone on there about ways to fight COVID and win.
