I care about the Ukrainian people, but--I don't want to send any money to a corrupt CIA puppet dictator, and I most especially DON'T want my tax dollars going to him.
He's already bought high-priced mansions in Egypt and the U.K. He's squirrelling away millions meant for defending Ukraine while barring Ukrainian men of military age from leaving the country and forcing them to the front. And he hasn't held an election since the war started.
He's also been engaging in religious persecution.
As for Trump, his foreign policy is pretty simple and can be explained pretty quickly:
Does it benefit the United States? If the answer is yes, then he's going after it. If the answer is no, then he's going to oppose it and work to put a stop to it. And he'll use all the tools he has available to achieve his desired results including stampeding the Democrats and RINOs toward (or away from) whatever he needs them to stampede around.
Actually, that last bit is pretty funny. I'm enjoying watching it...
Even more importantly, this is the war that didn't have to happen. Russia would have left Ukraine alone as long as NATO stayed out. The Russians made it clear that they wouldn't tolerate NATO (or really, any serious military threat) along that border.
But--the CIA was determined to create one. So, they did.
It makes me absolutely furious. The Ukrainians have really been through enough. They needed stability. At one point, post-Soviet era, they elected a Baptist minister as President. He was a good man. He's also the guy that Zelensky and his backers exerted themselves to remove from power so they could install Zelensky.
I read it. I don't agree with it--and here's why. If Russia did in Mexico what the CIA has done in Ukraine, Mexico would already be the 51st state. There wouldn't even be any discussion about it. We'd just wake up one day and it would be over and done, and the usual suspects would be telling us all how happy we should be about it and how happy the Mexicans should be too.
We don't take it well either when China messes with our sphere of influence either. Case in point: the Panama Canal. We're taking it back since Panama clearly can't be trusted to maintain it and hang onto it.
The only reason why Cuba has gotten away with being Communist as long as they have is because of Kruschev and his nukes, and a conspiracy of corrupt insanity at the top of the Democrat and Republican parties. THEY CONSPIRED to keep Cuba Communist, or the Castros would have fallen already and Cuba would be a free country.
Think about that for a bit, why they did that.
Russia is no longer Communist. Does Putin want to reconstitute the Soviet Union? Possibly--but only the territory. He's very pro-Orthodox, pro-Russia. He wants Russia to be a powerhouse again, but there are elections, they have a Duma (like our Congress) and (mostly) representative government.
There are differences. You don't publicly criticize Putin--if you're Russian--and get away with it. He's pretty typically Russian in that he's going to retaliate and you could wind up in prison or lose your life if you do that.
But Russians have honestly never really had free speech. They've done pretty well to learn to deal with a free market economy and car insurance and a bunch of other western ideas.
Maybe whoever succeeds after Putin will figure out how to support and encourage free speech.
Ukraine might not want to be part of Russia (and they have their reasons), but no matter what, they share a border with Russia. They have no choice but to GET ALONG WITH Russia. Not getting along isn't an option. Anyone who pushes them toward anxiety and paranoia toward their more powerful neighbor next door is not doing them or anyone else any favors.
Andrew, some of Ukraine's flaws were put in place at the end of World War II. More recently, there was a CIA funded and created color revolution, which is how Zelensky came to power. But post-the end of the Soviet Union, everything was for sale in Ukraine. Girls, boys, drugs, death, Russian weapons of mass destruction, you name it. They had, for Pete's sake, an entire BATTALION of Hitler-happy NAZIs--which were, as it turns out (and as has been carefully censored from the mainstream media) running around in the eastern half of Ukraine torturing and murdering Russian-speaking Ukrainians.
And then--there were the bioweapons labs, and the sweetheart deals with the Biden Crime Family and the McConnells and the Pelosis, and--also Macron and others in European leadership.
Money laundering happened. Having a happy little war with Russia made the money laundering incredibly easy to do. No one was accounting for the money spent or where it went. American weapons were exported to the Ukraine where they were SOLD for more hard cash.
U.S. weapons makers have had a hard time keeping up with the demand, so it was reported. Well--given where those weapons were NOT going (i.e., NOT to the front) and given where they were REALLY going (i.e., to all of America's enemies), that inability to keep up with demand should put a new and interesting light on all of this.
It's even worse than Biden's regime suddenly abandoning millions of dollars' worth of military equipment in Afghanistan.

It is hard to determine what the corruption is but any country at war is going to have flaws.

UGH.
That is their excuse but it is not factual. Go see my article on Russia Fiefdoms.

Best summary ever.
